Backhand is a emo/pop punk band from New Orleans Louisiana!

Backhand is a one-year old, five-piece band from New Orleans, LA. Driven by pure heart, Backhand rips up

the stage at many small clubs in the New Orleans metropolitan area, including the parish @ the House of Blues. With many songs primarily being about relationships and/or growing up, their high energy performances gain many converts among the heart-broken youth of New Orleans and its outlining areas. To spread the word of rock, Backhand will soon tour the gulf coast region.

Backhand has played with such recording artists as: Mu330, The Exit, Sum 41, 311, Alien Ant Farm, The Ataris, Fenix TX, Less than Jake, Rancid, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes; along with numerous local acts. We also played at the 2001 Vans’ Warped Tour. We think of ourselves as poppy melodic punk rock with "emo endencies." We like crisp and catchy melodies blended with heavy and raw sounding riffs. Influences include: The Impossibles, Homegrown, Unwritten Law, A New Found Glory, Lagwagon, Midtown, MXPX, The Ataris, Blink 182, Fenix TX, and Jimmy Eat World.
